Much of the complex is taken up by pair of ultra-luxurious, Arabian themed five-star hotels (Al Qasr and Mina A’Salam), plus the very exclusive Dar al Masyaf resort and the idyllic Talise spa – while the newer Jumeirah Al Naseem hotel on the edge of the complex adds further five-star Arabian-themed lodgings with a more contemporary vibe. For casual visitors, however, the main attraction is the ridiculously pretty Souk Madinat Jumeirah, a gorgeous little labyrinth of wooden-roofed alleyways lined with upmarket souvenir shops and a good spread of places to eat and drink, particularly if you can bag a seat at one of the souk’s waterfront establishments, offering beautiful views past the meandering canals and endless wind towers, with the vast outline of the Burj Al Arab rising surreally behind.
